The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution was founded in 1890 and incorporated in 1896 by an Act of Congress. Headquartered in Washington, D.C., the NSDAR (or DAR) is a nonprofit, bipartisan women’s service organization. Designed to honor the memories of our Patriot ancestors who fought or gave service during the American Revolutionary War, DAR focuses on three main areas: historic preservationeducation, and patriotism.

Plum Station Chapter, NSDAR, is one of 50 chapters in the Colorado State Society. Chartered in 2023, our chapter proudly serves the Sedalia, Colorado, area. We enthusiastically uphold the values and goals of our society through our various activities and projects. In addition to the common bond of patriotic lineage, lasting friendships are forged and fellowship is enjoyed by all members. Our service also supports the national DAR motto, “God, Home, and Country.”

Plum Station Chapter, NSDAR, has more than 24 members and associate members. We are always excited to welcome new members. Individuals interested in membership are encouraged to Contact Us and visit a meeting as our guest. Any woman 18 years or older—regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background—who can prove lineal descent from a Patriot of the American Revolutionary War is eligible for membership.

The chapter annually recognizes the following days: Constitution Day (September 17), Washington’s Birthday (February 22), the beginning of the American Revolutionary War (April 19), and Flag Day (June 14).
